Million Tails is a community app for reporting, finding, and helping stray and missing animals. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

By using Million Tails, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Million Tails:

• Display name — the name you choose when creating your account.
• Location — your approximate location, used to show animals and activity near you. We collect location only while the app is in use, if you grant permission.
• Photos — photos you upload when reporting stray or missing animals.
• Reports and activity — reports you submit, feeding logs, and animals you follow.
• Profile information — optional details such as username, bio, and city that you choose to add to your profile.
• Support requests — messages you send through the Contact Million Tails form.

We do not require or collect an email address, phone number, or payment information as part of creating or using a Million Tails account. We do not require real-name registration.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Show animals and activity near your location.
• Display your reports and contributions to the community.
• Allow other members to find and help animals you have reported.
• Send notifications about animals you follow or reports you have submitted (if you enable notifications).
• Review support requests, questions, technical issues, and feedback.
• Moderate content and remove reports that violate our community guidelines.

3. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your information is stored and processed using Google Firebase (Firestore database and authentication), which is our backend infrastructure provider. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's privacy policy.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users or the public.

4. Your Profile and Public Information

Animal reports you submit are visible to other members of the community. This includes the animal's description, photo, and approximate location.

Your display name may appear alongside reports and community activity you submit. Your city is shown on your profile only if you choose to enable it. Your username and bio may be visible to other members if you choose to add them.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the app. Animal reports are kept to maintain community history even after they are resolved.

If you would like to request deletion of your account and personal information, please contact us at hello@milliontails.com. We will process eligible deletion requests within 30 days, subject to information we may need to retain for legal, safety, security, or community record-keeping purposes.

6. Children

Million Tails is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers with industry-standard security. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Million Tails after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
